Life Expectancy
In class we went over more about population and settlement. We talked about life expectancy, infant mortality, crude birth and death rate, net migration and net emigration. Infant mortality is is the rate of babies that die before their first birthday. Crude birth rate is the number of births per 1000 of the population. Crude death rate is the number of deaths per 1000 of the population.Net migration rate is the difference between the number of persons entering and leaving a country during a year. An excess of persons entering the country is net migration. Last year Canada had 5.65 migrants but this year it has only gone up to 5.66. The United States last year had 3.65 migrants but now only have 2.45. Net emigration is the excess of a person leaving a country and is written a negative number. Last year Mexico had -3.11 and now they have -1.64.
